Paul Lambert
I am a reader in medical statistics in the Centre for Biostatistics and Genetic Epidemiology in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester. For a number of years I have been seconded part-time at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden.
My primary research interests are in
- Survival analysis and in particular the use of flexible parametric survival models.
- Relative survival methods and in particular the modeling of excess mortality.
- Meta-analysis and research synthesis.
- Hierarchical Models.
- The use of Bayesian methods in medical statistics.
I have written a book with Patrick Royston titled Flexible Parametric Survival Analysis Using Stata: Beyond the Cox Model.
I am teaching a 1-week residential course with Paul Dickman on statistical methods for population-based cancer survival analysis in Treviso, Italy, 18-22 June 2012.
I organised a 1 day workshop on applications and developments of flexible parametric survival models in Stockholm on the 10th November 2011.
