Nicola Cooper is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Leicester. She has recently completed an MRC training fellowship in Health Services Research. The title of her fellowship is ‘the use of evidence synthesis and uncertainty modelling in economic evidence-based health-related decision models’. Nicola’s primary research interest is in the interface and integration of medical statistics and health economics. This specifically includes methods for statistical modelling of cost data, integration of evidence synthesis within a decision-modelling context, handling of missing data in economic evaluations conducted alongside clinical trials, and the application of Bayesian statistical methods to all of the above. Nicola participates in postgraduate teaching on the MSc in Medical Statistics and the MSc in Health Services Research within the Department of Health Sciences. She has also taught a number of short courses in evidence synthesis in decision modelling using Bayesian methods worldwide.
