Research

My research interests are focused mainly on the theory of quantum dots; I am currently working on carbon nanotube quantum dot devices and on graphene quantum dots. I also have long standing interests in scanning tunnelling microscopy and x-ray absorption spectroscopy. In addition to my work on artificial atoms, I am also collaborating with chemists and astrophysicists to develop x-ray polarising filters for an astrophysical observatory.
