This was the second time I have attended the University's SAP Training on Purchase Ordering, Goods Receipt and Invoice Verification. I previously attended in February 2006 but felt I needed a refresher so attended again in December 2008 in my new role as the Registrar's PA.

I attended this yesterday 17 April 2008 10:00am - 11:00am.

It seems the roll out of Office 2007 has begun, but ITS has experienced some problems with the it. We were advised to wait until at least May time to install, which is what I will do!

Course description:

The seminar will:

• familiarise you with changes to the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Access) and explain the reasons behind the changes;
• provide instructions for installing Office 2007 on your computers;  
• signpost  you to Office 2007 help and support; and,
• offer a forum for you to address your individual questions to SDC and ITS staff.

An opportunity to hear about, and importantly, see the University's new visual identity.

I attended the below today. It seems everything must now be approved for publication through AVS. You cannot design things yourself anymore using Publisher etc.

The U of L logo should always be in the top left.

'Look at Leicester' Seminar Series - Springboard for Change: Costing Your Research Project

Thank you for registering to attend the above seminar on the 27th February 2008 from 12:30pm - 2:00pm. The seminar will be held in the Gartree & Rutland, 4th Floor, Charles Wilson Building. 

Course Description:

This seminar will introduce a new software application which allows research staff to prepare research bids based on full economic costings in a straight forward manner and submit these for approval.

Today I completed my appointed persons first aid course as my old certificate had run out after 3 years.

It took place in the Charles Wilson building and enabled me to brush up on my somewhat lacking first aid skills.

I am now the official first aider for BDRA.
