BS1009 Assignments

How to download the BS1009 essays from Blackboard

BS1009 Microbiology

There is one assignment for this course, a 2000 word essay which is submitted electronically by the students to Blackboard.

Every student has been assigned to a group (the same as their practical group).

 

Submission by students

Deadline 12 noon 7 March 2011 submission via Blackboard only

No hard copy submitted.

 

The essays will be scanned by Turnitin for plagiarism. The students will receive an email receipt when they have submitted their work.

 

Downloading the essays for marking

Log in to Blackboard and access the BS1009 course site. go to the CONTROL PANEL (on the left hand side, under the menu buttons) and click on 'TurnitinUk assignments by groups' located in the 'course tools' panel on the left hand side.

Click on the 'view' link for your group assignment, then choose your student group number from the drop down list.

Your list of students will appear below, along with the date of their submission. Check the originality report for evidence of plagiarism by clicking on the number given in the 'originality report' column.

You can access individual files for each essay from this page and print them from here.

Please check that all your students have submitted their work by the deadline and review the originality reports created by Turnitin.  Please contact those students who have not submitted work. If they have still not submitted work a week after the deadline has passed, please forward their name to Dr Heaphy.

Please check all the originality reports for your students, if you suspect plagiarism has occured, please forward the name of the student to Dr Jo Badge or Dr Heaphy who also have access to the reports and will be able to advise on a course of action.
