Purchasing your own kit

Information on where the School of Biological Sciences and GENIE kit was purchased if you are interested in getting handsets for your own department I would recommend that you contact Chris Gooch in AVS.

I would recommend that you contact Chris Gooch in AVS to source a supplier.

To give you an idea of pricing, our handsets we purchased were from Keepad

and priced at around £35 (inc VAT) per handset. They operate on a radio frequency.

The receivers are a small USB stick with radio receiver, costing around £200 - £300 each. They hold the licence to operate the voting software and each can handle up to 250 handsets. The receivers can be limited in teh number of handsets they are registered for, so make sure you ask for the potential to increase your capacity if your funds only allow a small number of handsets to begin with but you plan to add more later.

Turning Point

The turning point 2008 software is supplied with the system, but is now available on CFS . This works seemlessly in PowerPoint to create voting slides which can be viewed as 'non-voting' slides later if required. Software can be installed locally on Mac's or laptops if required. Copies of the software are available online or on a CD which is kept withthe voting kit.
