Electronic Voting System
Information on the electronic voting system and its use in the School of Biological Sciences.
Where do I find the kit ?
1. Software
To write question slides, you need to use Turning Point 2008. This is now available on CFS .
When using the system in a lecture theatre or other teaching room, log in CFS with your own account.
2. Voting handsets and receiver
There are four receivers and over 100 handsets available for loan from the GENIE CETL office (ADR 205).
All first year undergraduate Biological Science, Med Biochem, Med Gen and Med Phys students have their own handset for voting. If teaching the first years, you will therefore only need a receiver.
How do I book the kit?
Use the online booking form to let us know what equipment you want to use.
You can also view when the equipment has already been booked on the online calendar.
You will receive an email confirmation of your booking.

Lots of good information on how other people have used and evaluated their electronic voting systems in the UK and elsewhere.
If you are from another department in the University, please contact Jo Badge to arrange a demonstration or loan of the handsets for trial purposes. Information about how to buy your own equipment and cost. There is also the potential to hire the equipment from the School, but realistically this would be outside the main teaching months (i.e. May-Sept). It is also possible to hire the equipment directly from Keepad.
