Personal Information

Ben joined IT Services in January 2003 as a Web development officer in the Learning Technology Section (LTS). At the beginning of 2008, the LTS became the Multimedia Services (MMS) Web team under the management of [Jon Shears].

Previously, Ben worked for four years as the Web & Publications Officer for LTSN Psychology (previously CTI Psychology) based at the University of York. Academic experience includes a BSc(Hons) in Psychology from the University of Leicester and an MA Social Research from the University of Leeds.

As the Senior Information Architect (web) in the web team, Ben's responsibilities include site wide University CWIS and CMS planning, information architecture, usability testing, development, training and on-going support; plus development of training materials/documentation; and a range of duties related to the web. Ben also supervises the activities of the other Information Architect in the team (Gill Nuttall).

Ongoing development/planning work includes: All departments and office/service sites, the top level corporate web site, Web Centre, Undergraduate web prospectus, Postgraduate web prospectus, and  Plone CMS development as part of the Corporate Web Site Redevelopment Project.

Other MMS team members include [Steve Hayles], [Michelle Heap], [David Wickins], [Jeff Wilkinson], [Gillian Nuttall] and [Craig Russell].

The MMS team are currently located on the Ground Floor - Prospect House, 94 Regent Road.
