Blog Entry Department hosts Petrophysics Summer School
The department hosted the first week-long Summer School in Petrophysics (26 June - 1 July 2016). The summer school was aimed as an introduction to petrophysics for the international earth science community. We hosted 30 participants, from 19 different nationalities, representing 11 countries by institution who gained a deeper understanding of petrophysics, core physical properties data and downhole logging for participation in International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) expeditions and within industry.

Sally joined the Northern Lighthouse Vessel Pharos on the 17th August with colleagues from the British Geological Survey (BGS) to test the latest iteration of their seabed rock drill, RD2.
